Brewster NY Community Profile & History

Brewster, New York is a village in the town of Southeast, New York. Situated at the crossroads of highways I-684, I-84 and State Routes 22, 312, 202 and 6, the community offers the rustic ambiance and close-knit feel of a small town with easy access to New York City and the major urban centers of the Northeast. Settled in about 1630, the larger town of Southeast was established in 1688.

Brewster remains the most densely populated village in Southeast, with a historic downtown that features several fine antique homes and the 1896 Old Town Hall.
