Danville NH Community Profile & History
Danville, New Hampshire is a small town in Rockingham County. Originally a parish of Kingston, it was chartered in 1760 as Hawke, after Admiral Sir Edward Hawke. The town was renamed "Danville" in honor of early settlers, at least three of whom had been named Daniel, in 1836.
Danville remains primarily rural in nature today, with a historic town center, scenic views along the Piscataqua River, and a convenient location near New Hampshire's Atlantic Ocean coast, easily accessible to both Maine and Greater Boston.
