Orchards and dairy farms have traditionally been the key agricultural producers in Bolton, and the town retains a close-knit rural atmosphere today.

Though the local economy is still rooted in Bolton's large orchards, there is some industry located near I-495. Large, handsome old homes and churches line Main Street in Bolton and impart a sense of time gone by. A traditional country fair held every September provides an additional glimpse into the past.
