Climate
Due to its great size and variations in elevation, the state of Arizona has greatly varying climate conditions from one area to another. While there are smaller population centers around Yuma (in the southwest corner) and Flagstaff (in north-central Arizona), vast areas of the state remain largely uninhabited, due in great part to the desert climate.

Arizona's capital is Phoenix, which lies in the Salt River Valley in the central region of the state. The state government has three branches: Executive (headed by the Governor), Legislative (comprised of upper and lower houses), and Judicial (headed by the Arizona Supreme Court).
